Spring is finally here – hooray! After all this rain, I could not be more excited!! Spring flowers are in bloom, trees are green, cue family picture time!  I took our little ones out for a session in the yellow flowers this spring, and honestly, it’s been too long since our last session. I need to update the pictures in my home because my kids are growing so fast!

I love that when I look at these pictures, I can see their little personalities! Carter is maturing, confident in himself and how he dresses. I see his quiet confidence and sweet smile.  Somehow I feel like it’s so bittersweet to have my oldest grow up.  I know the other two are right  behind him. How do I not have babies any more?

Kelsey was being a bit feisty the day we took pictures – what mom hasn’t gone through that? So for me, I didn’t push her. She didn’t want any pictures by herself, so that’s how we rolled.  She is very determined and knows what she wants. She loves so deeply and wears her heart on her sleeve. I love the unique bond she shares with Keegan.  Her hugs are so genuine and come from the bottom of her heart.

Little Mr. Keegan. Oh man. Is he going to be a heartbreaker or what?! His eyes and those dimples when he looks at me, he can pretty much get away with anything. He is growing and becoming his own independent little person.  He can hardly sit still for pictures.  All his thoughts and feelings show in everything he does.

I am so thankful to have images like this – that capture them just as they are. Captures their personalities, their relationship with each other, their smiles, their little looks. And I am so thankful that I jumped in there. I know my kids will want my relationship with them documented, captured. So that they can always look back and see how much I loved them. How we smiled, how we were silly, how we loved.  Mommas, get in the pictures with your kids – it’s good for your heart, it’s good for them. Just do it.
