#1 Celebrating 10 Years of Marriage

First of all, we cannot believe that this year we are celebrating 10 years of marriage!  I mean, how does time fly so fast! We are so blessed to have traveled this road together for the past 10 years.  Especially in times like today where not all married couple stays together, we will continue to celebrate each year because it is quite an accomplishment to stay together!!  For us, we both truly vowed that this would be it for us, no giving up when it gets hard – the whole in sickness and in health. Well, marriage isn’t so bad when everyone is healthy and rested.  It’s in sickness that you find what marriage is made of, it’s when you are surprised with unexpected circumstances, it’s when you have been put through the fire together and you come out the other side stronger.

We have definitely been tested in our marriage, first of all because marriage is hard and takes a lot of work.  But also because in the past few years we have dealt with my husband having back surgery and having twins – all at the same time!  I am so thankful that we are not in this alone, we truly trust in God to see us through.  There are so many miracles along this journey that God has blessed us with that are completely unexplainable – like when our twins slept 12 hours straight starting at 3 months old! Yay, that doesn’t just happen!!  Also, that my husband has been able to return to coaching volleyball after back surgery – we truly never knew if that was going to be possible.  So, we will celebrate all that God has brought us through with joy!

When we got married, we honeymooned in Bora Bora.  It was literally a dream come true! We were there for 10 days and got to go to three islands.   We stayed in the over water bungalows, and had the time of our lives!  Our favorite memory from our honeymoon was one of our excursions where we swam with stingrays, swam with sharks (yes! I did it! even though I am not an adventurous person! and it was amazing!), and had a gourmet lunch cooked for us on the beach.  It was the sweetest memory for us!  And oh my goodness, we look so young!

This summer we will be celebrating 10 years of marriage by taking a trip to Cancun, Mexico.  My mom is watching the kiddos for us, so this is our first vacation without the kids! It will be so hard to be away from them, but so great for us. We can’t wait!
